I use to be a Pseudo-Christian. Living my life any kind of way by my own rules, but if you asked me if I was a Chritian I would always answer with pride, " YEAH I AM A CHRISTIAN, DONT YOU SEE THE CROSS AROUND MY NECK? Read the Bible, go to church, study to show thy self aproved. Please! I had a gold cross around my neck to show what I believed. It wasnt until years later that I realized that REAL CHRISTIANS dont have to wear a cross around their neck. REAL CHRISTIANS ACTUALLY LIVE THE LIFE. This hits home for me. I had a long talk with PJ on the phone, and he gave me a good butt whippin LOL. It reminded me how the Lord Jesus chasten those who He loves. You're right, perserverence is key. I think of what 1 John 2:19 says:"They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." How can new creatures in Christ go back to the old. It violates what the scriptures say like 2 Corinthians 5:17:"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Thanks for responding, be sure to invite me up for an interview when your show starts bro LOL. When you going to be on PJ's show? LOL. I would say a true christian cannot be dormant for so many years(i.e. 20 years) and then come out. I would say that they were never Christian and through God's grace He saved them after 20 years. It is possible to be decieved I think for a temporary time like I was for many years but that I believe is dealing with maturity. I like all have not arrived and Christianity is a life long process and we learn daily and mature daily. Based on scripture I cannot think of any situation where a person "backslide for years." For example we see Paul rebuking Peter. DOES that mean he was not a Christian, of course not! He made a mistake. We will never obtain perfection in this life but we all at different times in out life submit to temptation whatever it might be but the test is how we recieve rebukes and correction and continue to strive in the Faith. Perserverence is key. Lionel discipleship and christian should be synonomous terms. you should not be able to have one without the other. Kind of like Tyris and good looks-they go hand and hand-LOL. Christ-I think people look at Him as a loving gentlemen who is waiting at out beck and call, I think this is an extreme dis-service to the Biblical Jesus. When Christ saves us we become new creatures and we have to obey our new thirst. We no longer desire to offend God by our habitual sins. God Bless TYRIS aka "KC Stud" What up Karsten? What about those who say that you can be a Christian (meaning you have made a profession) but then they encourage you to a call to discipleship. Is this possible? Can one be a Christian and not a disciple? Can one be genuinely saved while simultaneously not picking up their cross and dying daily? What are your thoughts my brother. You know about this thing called Lordship Salvation? I also have a question Tyris. I have questions that go through my mind about the Pseudo-Christian. Like "Can a Christian be saved for years upon years and then one day finally get into a relationship with Jesus Christ?" I ponder oon this because that seems to be the story with so many professing Christians this day. The utter things like "I know I am saved, but my relatioship has been dry for many years. But now God convicts me everyday!" What? Where in the scriptures do we see Christians being stagnet for many years? The scriptures they use to justify this are 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 and Luke 15:11-32. Supposedly this says we can be babes in Christ for a long period of time and mature when we come back to Christ? I ask many times well what about the Mark 4:3-20? The Christian, by God working in them, should produce the fruit (Galatians 5:22-23) that shows the Holy Spirit is within them. Can I get some feedback on this? Can a Christian be dormant for many years and them sprout to abound in much fruit? Some times the Pseudo-Christian believes so, and that's why they haven't supposedly got to where they need to be.
