Too often we flaunt our liberties. However, the scriptures give us a clear pattern of when it's okay to cuss. Remember "cuss" is slang for "curse". I believe that false teachers are the one group who made Paul and Jesus "cussing mad". Jesus mocked and insulted false teachers. Many of the parables humiliated the pharisees- and he clearly used "damning" language in Matthew 23:13-39 and Luke 11:37-54. Paul uses langage that can be literally translated as modern "cuss words" in several places. The same Paul who wrote Ephesians 4:29 also cursed false teachers in Galatians 1:8&9 and 3:10. He used "gross" or "offensive" language in Galatians 5:12 and Philippians 3:2&7. We shouldn't cuss to be cool- but Paul was happy to cuss false teachers. (And necessary for me, too. I had to bite my tongue day before yesterday when I had a little incident with a hammer hitting the wrong nail--my thumbnail!) Excellent! (And necessary for me, too.
